Description: Provide primary and urgent health care for Georgia State University studentsincluding but not limited to CPR and emergency first aid; and preventative, curative, and rehabilitative medical care following standardized nurse practitioner procedures.Coordinates case management of patients including, but not limited to referral to specialties and hospital emergency rooms and follow-up as appropriate.Collaborates with medical director and SHS Director to develop and implement nursing and health center procedures and protocols.Maintains extensive documentation for verifications of appropriate care.Order and interpret diagnostic test including but not limited to mono spot, rapid strep, pregnancy, throat cultures, PAP; STD testing.Instructs and counsels patients regarding prescription medications, birth control, pregnancy, STD's, substance abuse, eating disorders, sport related injuries, and other health related health and wellness topics.Maintains current information and trends in the field of college health care. Demonstrates evidence of continuing professional growth by involvement in continuing education peer review, and the review of protocols and procedures.Provides prevention, health promotion and education service that enables students to take full advantage of their academic experience.Provides clinical supervision of nurses and medical assistant and administrative support staff in regards to compliance with university and health center protocols, policies and procedures Disclaimer: This job requisition provides a high-level job definition.
