More than 3,000 health care professionals have graduated in health informatics, nutrition, physical therapy and respiratory therapy. In addition, the master's in occupational therapy just admitted the inaugural class. To honor his mother, a career bedside nurse, Kenneth Lewis, former chief executive officer and president of Bank of America and Georgia State alumnus named the School in 2003 and is known known as the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions. Under the leadership of the Dean and in collaboration with other university leaders, faculty and volunteers, the position of Director of Development offers a talented, motivated development professional an excellent opportunity to be a part of an innovative school and growing development department. Additionally, with the recent merger with Georgia Perimeter College there is an opportunity to be part of a creating new traditions and advancing the health professions at what US News & World Report ranked fourth in the "most innovative university" category. The Development Director will be responsible for major gift fundraising activities for the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions including identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewarding of major gift prospects and working with the school's advisory council. He/she will serve as a member of Georgia State University's Development and Alumni staff and play a vital role in advancing the University's strategic fundraising priorities. Required QualificationsTrack record of successful major gift fundraising strategies, managing a portfolio of 150+ prospects and executing 150+ donor visits per year.Excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skillsSuccessful record of collaboration with colleagues, volunteers and advisory boardsKnowledge of higher education environmentAbility to work within a team oriented environmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work with diverse constituencies from all disciplines including donors, faculty, staff, students, and select corporations and foundationsValid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
