Job Description Responsible for planning, designing, standardizing, implementing and coordinating Infection Prevention & Control activities across EHC operating units in collaboration with Hospital Epidemiology. System coordinator maintains current knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control standards and regulations (state, federal and other) and serves as subject matter expert to all operating units. Standardizes Infection Prevention & Control process, policies & procedures across all EHC operating units. Identifies and implements best practices for prevention, detection and control of infections-surveillance activities, isolation precautions. Participates in operating unit and system infection prevention and control committees. In collaboration with the operating units IP and Hospital Epidemiology, maintains up to date policies/procedures related to IP & C based on current evidence and to assure compliance with regulatory and TJC standards. Reporting internally and externally (NHSN, etc) Responsible for the development and evaluation of the Infection Control Plan by completing the annual analysis, evaluation and revisions to the infection Control Plan in collaboration with the operating unit IPs. Identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and constraints in the Plan. Consolidates IPC Plan across operating units as appropriate. Provides system summary to system leaders of Infection Prevention Program Responsible for training and education for operating unit Coordinators/Managers and leadership. On board and trains new employees. Develops and implements on-boarding training/education plans and modules for new IPC staff and Leadership. Provides professional development opportunities for OU representatives. Assists Quality & Patient Safety directors in hiring OU Infection Preventionist Provides OU consultant services to assure system compliance relating to infection prevention and survey readiness. Serves as backup to Operating Unit¿s (OU) IPs. Lead education sessions across OUs in new rules, findings and best practices of infection prevention & control requirements. In collaboration with the OU IPs, schedules audits to ensure system compliance. Serve as subject matter expert for IPC rules, standards, and products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, other health-related field or health administration. Five years of hospital infection control which includes three years of experience in an infection control management position. Certification Infection Control (CIC) required. In lieu of a Master's degree, candidates with 10 years leadership experience in healthcare infection prevention & control may be considered. Must be licensed as Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
