The Paramedic, under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse is responsible for facilitating age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The paramedic participates, under the supervision of the RN, in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and task. The role of the Paramedic also includes patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement. The paramedic role is not a clinical supervising role.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: minimum requirements to be considered qualified to do the job.
Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Required
Minimum Experience: 1 year minimum of patient care experience. (Preferred)
Required Minimum Certification: Successful completion and certification as a NREMT EMT-Paramedic recommended. Licensed as a paramedic in the State of Georgia. Must be BLS PALS, ACLS
Crisis Management Training (CPI, Healthy Interventions, other) required within 1 year of hire. ASLS (as required by hospital policy). Paramedics shall perform only those skills listed under their licensure level and as further restricted by hospital policies, and only once they have been trained/competency validated on those skills, and credentialed to perform those skills by the hospital.
