The paramedic, under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse is responsible for facilitating age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates, under the supervision of the RN, in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and tasks. The role of the Paramedic also includes patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement. The Paramedic role is not a clinical supervising role.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Licensed as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia
Training and Education:
BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required. Georgia Stroke Core Curriculum and CPI certification within 90 days of hire or transfer to the department.
