Job Description Performs a variety of duties involved in the coordination of services for a patient/family during a visits to Emory Healthcare outpatient clinics. Maintains close working relationship with other departments to ensure effective communication of important issues, identifies problems and troubleshoots to facilitate patient care and follow-up. Assists with message retrieval from Lotus Notes and triage per provider and nursing request. Obtains necessary demographics and insurance information. Assists patient with billing questions and directs to Patient Financial Services or Facility Administrator as appropriate. Provides information to patients on such matters as services, charges and treatment procedures as directed. Demonstrates GVALHI customer service and teamwork consistently. Demonstrates understanding and compliance with HIPAA privacy practices. Collects co-pay and other monies due per Patient Financial Services. Balances charge and payment batches at the end of each day. Enters charges and payments into IDX system. Enters global consent in IDX if not previously completed. Maintains supply of necessary forms and supplies. Coordinates basic maintenance of office equipment (fax, copier, printers, etc). Performs other related duties as required. This role encompasses administrative, secretarial, financial, and other non-medical services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree, medical office, or medical assistant training preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial. Two years of healthcare experience required. Degree can be substituted for experience.
