Service Area Overview: Specializing in Robotic, General, Bariatric, Neuro, Orthopedic, Breast, Plastic, and Gynecologic Surgery, Northside Hospital performs more than 40,500 cases annually, which is more than any other hospital in Georgia. The PreSurgical Assessment RN will be responsible for managing the patient care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the Surgery Dept.
Pre-Surgical Assessment (PSA) is a fast-paced department that produces high qualitytelephonic patient assessments prior to surgery
(setting is without face-to-face patient contact)
Service Excellence/phone etiquette, critical thinking, multi-tasking, flexibility/ adaptability required
Surgical knowledge desired
Attention to detail, accuracy and follow-up essential
Adequate computer skills required
Collaborates with other members of Surgical Services and other departments as needed
Position Requirements: (2) two years + of current critical care, emergency department, triage, telephonic assessment, non bedside nursing or combination of. Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
