Job Overview

Purpose of your job position.

As Consulate Health Care Print Production Coordinator, you are entrusted with the responsibility of working with a team of graphic designers and running the internal print shop; as well as demonstrating in all interactions, Consulate’s five core values of Compassion, Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Passion. You are entrusted to provide innovative, responsible workflows with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results. The primary purpose of the position to monitor, organize and report on the daily work flow of the print shop and provide ongoing customer services for all orders.

Job Function

As Print Production Coordinator, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Responsible for quality assurance and customer service to internal/external clients and customers. No direct supervisory functions. This job description does not list all the duties of the job. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for sending, printing, proofing, finishing, packaging and shipping all print orders.

  2. Responsible for monitoring and taking inventory of all print shop products and placing orders approved by supervisor, as needed.

  3. Responsible for creating reports and new workflows for the print shop.

  4. Provide a daily end of shift report to the team, providing a hierarchy outline as well as identifying any issues.

  5. Coordinate internal print fulfillment schedules.

  6. Initiate requests for bids, customer quotations, and POs for vendors, as well as production schedules with external vendors.

  7. Delegate printing tasks among the interns.

  8. Relay on experience and judgment to coordinate print and design requests. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  9. Provide ongoing customer service from receipt of order through completion.

  10. Responsible for placing services calls print production issues.

  11. Evaluate and monitor print shop internal processes to ensure maximum efficiency.

  12. Monitor all orders for appropriate QA.

  13. Track inventory and place all supply orders.

  14. Provide limited supervision to others through motivation, direction, review and feedback of assigned tasks.

  15. Supervise work through the planning and scheduling of work assignments and the review and approval of tasks.

  16. Receive guidance with respect to general objectives; in the majority of tasks and projects assigned, determine methods, work sequence, scheduling and how to achieve objectives of assignments; operate within specific policy guidelines.

  17. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

  18. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  19. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

  20. Perform all other business-related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Works in office areas, training rooms, etc., as necessary.

  • Moves frequently during working hours.

  • Works in well-lighted, ventilated areas and around large printing equipment.

  • Subject to numerous interruptions for any urgent projects.

  • Subject to work on a tight deadline in keeping up with work demands.

  • Deals with public and personnel under varying conditions.

  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Must possess skills in print and graphic design

  • Must possess creativity, integrity, and demonstrate initiative.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, and the general public.

  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary to meet a certain deadline of a project.

  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

  • Must have experience producing and interpreting estimates for print requests

Specific Requirements

  • Experience with color management and photo retouching.

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator

  • Experience with Fiery Print Software

  • Experience working in a print shop and experience sending, printing and finishing design files that are delivered via PDF

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as lead by example

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadline-driven projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Provide excellent customer service, including email correspondence and phone call.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language and possess excellent communication skills.

  • Must be flexible in the performance of duties as priorities change.

  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, policies and procedures and instructions. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

  • Must be able to move frequently throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.

  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

  • Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.

  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the company, which include a medical and physical examination.

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 40 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. (If in facility at time of evacuation event).
