Purpose of the Position:

The primary purpose of your job position is to apply principles of accounting to process & analyze financial information, review financial reports, supervise the cash ledger process and assist the supervisor with the management of the Accounting functions.
As Senior Accountant,you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. This position is responsible for the production of monthly financial statements for the various entities. This position is a non-supervisory function. Duties & Responsibilities:
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and enter entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital. Prepares balance sheet, profit & loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for corporate entities and facilities.
Processes the closing of the GL systems and maintains the balance sheet reconciliations for the various entities.
Assists the Accounting Manager with coordinating the month-end process, approving journal entries and reviewing the financial statements for the various business lines.
Assists with reviewing the balance sheet reconciliations for the various business lines.
Devises and implements processes / systems for general accounting.
Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operation.
Assist in preparation of supporting documentation for financial audits and internal controls.

Moves intermittently during working hours.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Is involved with facility management, staff, auditors, government agencies, etc.
Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, and on other shifts when necessary.
Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.
Must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting.
Should have at least (2) years of Professional Accounting experience preferably in a health care environment.
Must be familiar with automated General Ledger systems preferably Lawson.
Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
