DeKalb Medical Imager Cardiovascular in Decatur (DeKalb Medical at North Decatur), Georgia
The Imager Cardiovascular performs tasks that provide technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures while also providing basic patient care under the supervision of the professional nurse
Provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. Practice will be in accordance with laws and regulations and will adhere to established policies, procedures and practice guidelines.
Assists physicians with invasive cardiovascular procedures such as pacemaker insertion and replacement, open heart monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, etc.
Responsible for delivery of patient care during all aspects of procedures.
Directs and guides patient teaching activities while maintaining standards of professional practice.
Collaboration and teamwork with personnel to provide high quality patient care.
Organizes time, supplies, and equipment efficiently and effectively.
Participates in professional organizations and activities which promote
Participates in continuous quality improvement teams and activities.
Participates in supporting the organization’s vision, mission and values and adheres to DeKalb Medical Standards of Behavior.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of DeKalb Medical.
Minimum Education, Experience and Licensure Required:
Registered Radiologic Technologist
Registered in Cardiovascular/Interventional Technology (ARRT) desirable
Current BCLS Provider status required to practice
Current ACLS Provider status required to practice
Must have previous PCI experience or will be willing to be sent to a facility with OHS/PCI for on site training prior to taking PCI call.
Two (2) years experience with a background in related fields or former training preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be able to communicate effectively by speaking clearly and distinctly in English
Ability to use a computer and specified Information systems
Ability to be self directed and capable of independent follow-up after orientation with preceptor
Ability to monitor the patient’s condition and respond accordingly
Good written and oral communication skills
Maintains good working knowledge of procedures and equipment
Ability to manipulate heavy equipment as required
Must be able to work under stressful situations and work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions while maintaining a high degree of concentration
Requires good organizational skills and the ability to solve operational problems and establish priorities effectively
Must be able to work with speed and accuracy consistently
Demonstrates tact, versatility, and dependability.
