DeKalb Medical Security Officer in Decatur (DeKalb Medical at North Decatur), Georgia
The Security Officer will provide security and safety for patients, employees, visitors, vendors, and volunteers, as well as protect hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned (Protection of Life and Property.)
Consults with and keep supervisor informed of activities, needs, and problems in assigned areas.
Patrols hospital building and premises and to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and identify intruders (trespassers of unauthorized persons.)
Monitors conduct of visitors on hospital premises and confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
Reports safety and/or fire hazards or security violations and document appropriately.
Responds to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel, volunteers, and visitors.
Provides assistance to nursing staff when patient restraint is authorized by treating physician (10-13 or 20-13 in mental health situations.)
Escorts employees to parking lots and hospital buildings when requested to do so.
Participate in investigations; maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
Secure and/or unlock offices and facilities as required.
May secure patient valuables or lost and found articles.
Controls parking and traffic flow; enforce parking regulations.
Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and teams.
Participates in supporting the organization’s vision, mission and values and adheres to DeKalb Medical Standards of Behavior.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of DeKalb Medical.

Minimum Education, Experience and Licensure Required:
High school diploma or GED
Additional qualifications include successful completion of background investigation (criminal history, health exam, employment history)
Valid GA driver’s license.
