Provide support and guidance to participants in the Be Well program and implement standard curriculum designed for

the lifestyle program. These individuals will be trained to deliver the required material and must possess the skills,

knowledge, and abilities to effectively facilitate Be Well sessions as a lifestyle coach.

Required Minimum Education : Associate degree or Bachelors degree or College students, in their last year of course work, in good

academic standing in the areas of exercise science, Health promotion, Kinesiology, nursing or a relevant

degree preferred.

Required Minimum Experience : Prefer to have some experience in public speaking, teaching, or group

exercise instruction.

Required Minimum Skills : After receiving program training, lifestyle coaches should be proficient in the

following areas: ability to guide behavior change efforts in others without prescribing personal actions or

solutions so that participants increase self-confidence and capacity to make and sustain positive lifestyle

changes, knowledge of basic health, nutrition and fitness principles, knowledge of the principles of

behavior change, including motivational interviewing techniques, commitment to the mission of WellStar

Health System, and flexibility to work with people from all walks of life.
