JOB SUMMARY: a brief description of the job.

The Resident Assistant (RA) participates in the care of Atherton Place Personal Care Residents from a Resident Centered Approach. The RA assists Personal Care Residents with activities of daily living according to State regulations; assures a protective and watchful oversight; remains aware of residents needs, whereabouts, state of health and daily functioning; and interacts with residents and families. Activities of daily living include, but are not limited to, medication assistance/administration, bathing, dressing, and grooming. Willing to learn additional skills as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: minimum requirements to be considered qualified to do the job.

Required Minimum Education : High School graduate or equivalent with CNA certification in the state of Georgia.

Required Minimum Licensure/Certification : Georgia CNA required

Required Minimum Experience : 2-4 years experience preferred in a similar setting with older adults. Experience with medication assistance/administration preferred.

Required Minimum Skills : Good customer service and communication skills required; demonstrates courteous and positive attitude; must be able to read and write; ability to relate well with teammates, healthcare professionals, residents, and families. Basic computer skills with Windows based environment for participation in training and resident documentation. Current skills in medication assistance/administration or willingness to learn.
