JOB SUMMARY : The Registered Nurse Specialty functions under the direction of the Office Manager and/or Physician and is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing safe patient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriate and culturally aware needs. The nurse addresses the patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and education needs. The nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care in complex situations, coordination of patient care activities, staff development and professional self-development. The nurse is able to independently perform job functions.

Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing; current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia; Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred. Current BLS certification. ACLS certification may be required within 6 months of employment for some settings.

Required Minimum Experience: One (1) year of direct patient care in an acute care setting preferred.

Full-time employees receive 120 hours of paid maternity or paternity leave and benefits-eligible part-time employees will receive 60 hours for the birth or adoption of a child. Adoptive parents can receive $10,000 in adoption benefits per child, with a total lifetime benefit of $20,000.
