SUMMARY Primary Care Physician The role of the Grady employed primary care physician is to ensure high quality, safe, timely, patient centered, team based patient care in accordance with the mission and vision of Grady Health System. Job Responsibilities Reports to on-site Primary Care Medical Director Ensures provision of safe, high quality, proactive, comprehensive, culturally-competent medical care of patient panel Assumes responsibility for maintaining and enhancing competency in clinical knowledge Works with Medical Director, Practice Administrator (PA) and Nurse Supervisor (NS) to improve processes and procedures Provides timely and effective responses to patient complaints Utilizes evidence-based decision-making process to diagnose and treat patients Serves as individual care team leader, participating in morning huddles and afternoon de-briefs Works with care coordination team to provide proactive management of patient panel Practices AIDET and takes personal responsibility for patient engagement Identifies clinical issues for quality improvement/process improvement Participates in education of medical students, nursing students, allied health students, residents if appropriate Timely arrival to clinic prior to first scheduled appointment Timely and active monitoring of inbasket messages Timely completion of charts and forms Maintains active privileges on Grady Health System Medical Staff and timely completion of required administrative paperwork Attends monthly department and clinic meetings. Attends mandatory division meetings. Other job duties as assigned Education Required: Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) is required Experience Required: Completion of primary care residency program Preferred: At least 2 years' experience as a primary care physician Skills: Required: Licensed by the State of Georgia without restriction to practice medicine. Board certified/eligible in Primary Care specialty, including internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine or preventative medicine.
